How long can I expect my roof to last?
The life span of most asphalt shingle roofs is 20 to 25 years, depending on how well it is maintained, the quality of materials used, and such factors as ice, snow, heat, and high wind. A metal roof may last as long as 40 years. For both metal and shingle roofing, severe weather and storm damage can shorten the life of your roof.
